Several Notable Tech Firms Ink New Office Space Deals in Manhattan

As the summer months have been heating up, so has the office space activity of TAMI firms in New York City.  Midtown South has continued to be the hottest submarket for office space in NYC, with a few major leases being signed since late May.

Soundcloud, the music sharing site, will be moving their operations to 44,000 square feet in Two Trees’ 50 West 23rd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.  The Chelsea office building is currently in the process of undergoing extensive renovations, including a tenant-only rooftop garden with outdoor workspace, new lobby and upgraded base building systems. Soundcloud is relocating from 111 Fifth Avenue, between 5th and Broadway.

ClassPass, a company that offers access to the largest network of fitness studios, leased 28,019 square feet for its new digs at 275 Seventh Avenue.  The firm will be joining MaxPoint Interactive, who recently signed a commitment for 10,044 square feet in the Midtown South tower as well (click here to read the article).

Rent the Runway, the women’s fashion company that took the world by storm, is relocating to 345 Hudson Street, where they have leased 40,000 square feet.  Rent the Runway will be leaving their current headquarters at 163 Varick Street later this year, which is also home to Blood Manor.

BuzzFeed, the content-driven publishing technology firm, has decided to relocate and expand their NYC headquarters at 225 Park Avenue South, gobbling up close to 200,000 square feet. The firm had recently subleased close to 100,000 SF on a short-term basis to accommodate their rapid growth.
